A Special Fan

Scottieholics. Salutations.

In case you have not read the Scottropolis Facebook page a couple of days ago, one of my first readers of the site is losing her bout with cancer. I have known her and her husband for many years. They have been following my works when I first started off blogging on the then-existing Yahoo 360. We have formed a connection in internet chat rooms, telephone, and Facebook. From those interactions, I learned she was a wonderful woman and mother and her husband and I are kindred minds.

I continued staying in touch with them through this rough time. It really breaks my heart to learn that she will no longer be with us. I reached out to a lot of people who know her and gave them an open invite here on the site to write a blog entry in dedication to her. For a series of days, there will be many blog entries posted in her honor. Through her wonderful hubby, these entries will be read to her from the site to let her know there are a lot of people who care and will always remember her during her final days.

I, for one, thank her for being supporter of the site and most importantly, a good friend. She has made a lot of people smile and laugh. She and her hubby were there for me when things weren’t going well for me at times. I pined for her to be around once I cranked out my first book. I’m sure she will be around in spirit as I will go through the reality of the published literary world. She is a wonderful friend, mother, and a valiant fighter.

I ask of God to be there for Linda and Jake during their time of need. Grant them peace, endurance, and love. Be there for their families and friends as well to grant them the peace, endurance, and love that is needed. I thank God for her for being a part of my life and being the awesome person that she is. As I continue writing, in spirit, she will be there reading word after word on this site as she always have. Linda, you will always be a fan of this site and I will always treasure and never forget our friendship.

If any of you readers want to send well wishes, either email them to me at scottie@scottropolis.com or post them on the Scottropolis Facebook page and I will post them on the site.
